Expand your diving knowledge with Rescue techniques. Rescue divers learn to look beyond themselves to consider the safety and well-being of other divers.
Rescue diver training readies student divers to help prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies using a variety of techniques. The course is designed to be demanding, though realistic in its conduct, content and approach.
Prerequisite certification: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or qualifying certification
Minimum age: 12
Recommended hours: 25 hours
Minimum Open Water Training: 5 sessions over 2 days
Note: Emergency First Response or qualified CPR certification is required for Rescue Diver status.
Course outline:
- Study - Watch the Rescue Diver Video, read the Rescue Diver Participant Manual and complete Knowledge Reviews.
- Knowledge Development - Scheduled sessions to review the Knowledge Reviews.
- Open Water Training Sessions - Consist of the 12 required course exercises.
